Eos Methode' traditionnelle blanc de noir

When we look back to our cyclone Gabrielle vintage there was one silver lining, the opportunity to finally make our first Methode' Traditionnelle, Eos, Blanc de noir.

2023 was a pretty difficult time for winemakers in Hawke's Bay, but what nature takes it sometimes gives back.
We had been wanting to make a Methode' traditionnelle (champagne style) sparkling pinot noir from our own special site since we first planted the vines in 2010. But, demand for our other pinot noir wines meant this opportunity was always put back to "next year".
2023 deliverd that opportunity. Sensing something was brewing weather wise, we picked our pinot noir early in February 2023 to make Eos.
Eos is the Greek godess of dawn and new beginnings and we feel a fitting namesake for this phoenix of 2023.
100 percent pinot noir with extended time on lees.
Extra brut, crisp, refreshing, with lovely brioche flavours from the extended aging on lees, but with fruit purity at the front. For the lovers of fine sparkling wine the sustained, fine bead of bubbles will be a joy.
This is a wine we are really proud to be blessed with.
